Should I sign up for a reiki training?

So many students feel the calling long before they finally take the leap. I cannot tell you how many times I've heard my students say something like: I wish I had this knowledge sooner.
I am a firm believer in divine timing and someone being ready and receptive, however, I also know how easy it is to let doubt overshadow the intuitive nudge. If you feel a pull towards a training, it is worth trusting. And if it keeps circling, it is not random.
Many enroll in a Reiki Training simply because they have been feeling this pull for a long time, and they finally decided to explore it. Here are the most common reasons people sign up for a Reiki Training:
To heal themselves.
This is the #1 reason, and it is often because conventional methods have failed them. They are feeling stressed, burned out, overwhelmed, anxious, unable to heal past emotional wounds, or wanting to feel better in their body and life. Reiki becomes a tool that they can utilize whenever they want.
Curiosity and feeling called.
Some can't explain it, but they just feel drawn. It can show up as a curiosity around the supernatural, spirituality, healing, or energy. This is often the beginning of a deeper awakening.
Wanting to feel more connected.
Whether to yourself, others, or God. Many who come to a Reiki Training are seeking a deeper relationship with something greater, but perhaps church doesn't feel quite right or you are looking for a more inclusive spiritual approach rather than a religious one. They are seeking genuine connection, not just information.
Nervous System Relief.
Many students come looking for peace. They are overwhelmed, overstimulated, and stuck in survival mode. They have a hard time relaxing and getting their mind to turn off. Reiki becomes a way for them to slow down and reground. It provides them a tangible tool that allows them to actually feel like their meditations are "successful" and helpful, rather than feeling like they are just drowning in their own thoughts.
Personal Growth & Spiritual Development.
This is a big one! Many of our students are wanting to tap into their intuition more, expand their awareness, become more aligned, and learn how to live their life in a more spiritual way. They are seeking growth that feelings meaningful, and life changing.
To help others.
Some come because they are natural caregivers, perhaps already in a helping profession or want to be able to support their loved ones. Helping others begins with helping yourself, but the ripple will go wider than you anticipate.
Dissatisfaction with traditional approaches.
Some have been on a long healing journey with minimal progress. Whether they have hit a ceiling in traditional talk therapy and understanding the problem isn't changing it... or they feel something is missing. Reiki adds a more holistic approach to the healing journey that is often the missing piece that many didn't know they needed.
Community and belonging.
This is my personal favorite...and often much bigger and more important than people realize. The desire to meet like-minded people, make friends who share in the same values and belief systems, and have a support system to walk alongside your spiritual journey.
A Reiki Training is about so much more than just learning Reiki. It is about deepening your spiritual life, learning how to connect with something greater than us, and cultivating inner peace. It is one of the most rewarding investments you can make in your life. The biggest regret I've heard students share is waiting so long to finally take the leap.
If this is speaking to you, I host Level I Reiki Trainings four times per year. Reach out to see when the next one is.
